    Step-by-Step Instructions for Using DTF Transfers on Shirts

    Prepare Your Workspace:

    • Use a clean, flat surface for pressing.
    • Ensure your heat press is set up properly with adequate ventilation and safety precautions in place.

     

    Prepare Your Garment:

    • Lay the garment flat on the heat press or pressing area.
    • Preheat the shirt for 5–10 seconds at 300–325°F (150–165°C) using medium pressure. This step removes moisture and wrinkles, creating a smooth surface for transfer.

    Position the Transfer:

    • Cut the transfer film to the desired size, if needed.
    • Place the DTF transfer design-side down onto the garment. Ensure it’s properly aligned and centered for the best results.

    Apply Heat and Pressure:

    • Set your heat press to 300–325°F (150–165°C) with medium to firm pressure.
    • Press the transfer onto the garment for 10–15 seconds. Be sure to follow the recommended time to avoid over or under-curing the design.

    Cool Peel the Transfer:

    • Allow the garment and transfer film to cool completely. This typically takes 30–60 seconds, depending on the environment.
    • Once cooled, gently peel the transfer film off the garment at a steady angle.

    Post-Press for Added Durability (Optional but Recommended):

    • Cover the design with parchment paper or a Teflon sheet.
    • Press the garment again for 5–10 seconds at the same temperature to ensure the design fully adheres and increases wash durability.

    • Use a lint roller to remove dust or debris from the garment before applying the transfer.
    • Store unused transfers in a cool, dry place to preserve their quality.

    Pressing Instructions
    1. Prepare

    2. Position
      Place the DTF transfer face down on the garment.

      Trim film if necessary and align carefully.
    3. Press
      Heat press at 300–325°F (150–165°C), medium–firm pressure, for 10–15 seconds.
    4. Cool Peel
      Allow transfer to cool for 30–60 seconds.
      Peel film slowly and steadily.
    5. Post-Press (Optional)
      Cover with parchment paper or Teflon sheet.
      Press again for 5–10 seconds to increase durability.

For best results, smooth out any wrinkles on the fabric before applying the transfer.

    Press 15 Seconds

    Once the transfer is positioned, apply heat using a heat press machine. Set the press to the recommended temperature and press firmly for about 15 seconds. This step allows the adhesive powder on the back of the transfer to melt and bond securely with the fabric fibers. Maintaining consistent heat and pressure during this stage is essential for durability.

    Peel and Press Again

    Start by placing the DTF transfer film onto your garment in the exact spot where you want the design to appear.
